KNOW ABOUT METREOR SHOWER

WHAT IS METEOR?

A meteor is a space rock also known as meteoroid.

What Is a Meteor Shower?

when space rock enters Earth's atmosphere at once the resistance of  the air on the rock makes  it extremely hot.

That bright streak is not actually the rock, but rather the glowing hot air as the hot rock zips through the atmosphere.we call it a meteor shower

Why would there be a lot of meteoroids hitting Earth at once?

When the earth travels through cometary debris during its orbit around the Sun,

meteor showers will result. Although the Earth's orbit around the Sun is nearly round, the majority of comets have very elliptical orbits.

Where are meteoroids made of?

Asteroids that orbit the sun between Mars' and Jupiter's orbits generate meteoroids when they collide.

This area is known as the asteroid belt. As asteroids collide, they leave behind crumbly pieces known as meteoroids.

What's the Difference between Asteroid or Meteor: ?

Small, stony objects called asteroids orbit the Sun. Despite orbiting the Sun similarly to planets, asteroids are far smaller than planets.

Asteroids occasionally collide with one another. Small fragments of the asteroid may separate  as a result of this. These fragments are known as meteoroids. Comets can also produce meteoroids.

Today, August 14, 2023, is a trending date for the Perseid meteor shower because its peak is predicted to occur tonight and tomorrow night.

The Perseid meteor shower, one of the most well-known of the year, can emit up to 100 meteors per hour at its peak.

The moon will only be 10% full this year, which will allow for darker sky and better viewing conditions, making this year's Perseids predicted to be extremely spectacular.
